The main purpose of this software is to provide the whole image and text knowledge about sedimentary structure for the geologists when they obverse and describe the core’s sedimentary structure character. It can save and manage the image&text data about sedimentary structure property, the data includes: image of core sample、model、well number、stratification、formative environment、sedimentary property and related knowledge.
According to the application analysis, the system will be divided into five sub-database: stratification structures database，surface structures database，contemporaneous deformation structures database，chemical genetic structures、exposed genetic structures database，lebensspuren structures database.

① stratification structure
Include: block bedding
horizontal bedding、parallel bedding、inclined bedding、planar cross stratification、wedge cross stratification、trough cross-bedding、flushed cross-bedding、buninoid cross-bedding、pennales cross-bedding、hummcoky cross stratification (HCS)、flaser bedding、phacoidal bedding、anti-granular stratification、anti-granular stratification with a coarse part、granular stratification、Bouma sequence。

④chemogenic structure：
Include:syngenetic subcutaneous nodes、diagenism subcutaneous nodes、late-formed nodes、crystal imprint、stylolite line/stylolite、cone-in-cone structure.etc
